Funeral Rites Thursday for Travis Trumbo
Funeral services for Travis Trumbo secretary treasurer of the Travis Carter Company who died of heart disease at his home will be held at 2 30 pm Thursday at the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. A lifelong Southern Indiana resident he was born July 5 1870 and worked for Travis Carter Company from youth rising to leadership as an estimator and lumber expert. He leaves a widow two children Edith and the late Dr Charles Trumbo a sister and several local lodge affiliations.

Bandit Robs Diamond Service Station For 23 Dollars
Kenneth Harding was robbed at Diamond Service Station at Second and Elm streets around 9:20 PM Monday. An unseen bandit forced him to surrender $23 with a gun, then fled through an alley. Seymour police are investigating with no description yet.

Victim of Crash Dies at Schneck Memorial Hospital
Lester Ward died from injuries sustained in an automobile crash at Fifth and Poplar streets on May 17. He had a fractured skull after his car collided with a truck. William Sutherland, injured in the same accident, suffered less severe injuries and was released from the hospital.

George Mitchell aged seventy three of 803 West Laurel street died at 11 o clock Monday night after a several day illness from a stroke. He was born December 8, 1860 in New Harmony Scott county and is survived by his widow Clara Smith and six children. Funeral services set at 1 pm Thursday from the home and 2:30 pm at New Harmony Church with burial in Harred cemetery Scott county.

Tornadoes sweeping the central plains caused extensive damage and loss of life. Thirteen are reported dead with seven in Nebraska near Tryon and five in Kansas at Liberal plus one near Garden City. Mrs Polly Fleenor Called by Death in Crothersville
Mrs Polly Alice Fleenor aged 76 of Crothersville died suddenly at 2 a.m. Tuesday at her daughter Maude Sayers’s home twelve miles southeast of town while visiting. Born near Tampico on August 12 1865 she lived in the county all her life and was married to John Wesley Fleenor. Surviving besides the husband are daughters Minnie Collins Tam pico and Gertrude Brandt near Tampico and a son, burial in Crothersville cemetery following services conducted by Rev Walter Moseley.

Woman Injured After Auto Collision on South Broadway
Mrs. Howard Routh of 109 percent West Second street suffered painful injuries when struck by an automobile on South Broadway near Centennial street Monday afternoon. The car was driven by Rachel Thompson of Seymour rural route 2. Routh was treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital and later returned to her home.

Southern Baptists fault Roosevelt over White House beer ad
The Southern Baptist Convention passed a voice vote denouncing the White House use to advertise the beer business.
