By 11 a m five Jackson County precincts reported 17 5 percent turnout in the current primary, above 1964 levels. Democratic votes were heavier than Republican as Indiana’s presidential primary drew attention to Branigin Kennedy and McCarthy. Polls close at 7 p m with results likely by about an hour after.
