FE 8S Welch of Seymour, vice president of the Indiana Telephone Corp, spoke at the Indiana Telephone Association's twenty second annual convention. He cited a rapid workload from e communications problems at Jefferson Proving Ground Madison and Burns City depot. He noted seventeen miles of trunk line built in seventeen days. About five hundred delegates representing ninety percent of Indiana telephone companies were expected to attend the two day conference with officers to be elected Thursday.

Submits Sewer Cost Estimate for Southwest End
City engineer E. H. Brown presented at the Tuesday council meeting the main sewer lines estimated at 28 785 96 dollars exclusive of laterals with an added 5 587 50 dollars for the southwest section south of Laurel and west of Beech. Total proposed sewer cost 34 375 46 dollars. Bond issue details are with the board of works and will start immediately. Citizens from the southwest section attended to question construction and procedure. Mayor Switzer noted the city’s clean up campaign and pledged further cooperation.

Rites for Crothersville Woman Set for Thursday
Funeral services are planned for Mrs. Mary C. Perry age eighty seven of Martinsville Ind and former Crothersville resident. She died at the home of her grandson Ray Nelson near Martinsville after six months illness. Burial will be in Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call at Kevern Funeral Home in Crothersville after 5 this afternoon. Mrs Perry born March 8 1854 in Jackson county was the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Rider. She married Charles W Perry who died in 1904. Her daughter Miss Carrie Perry a music teacher died in 1933.

Fires in city damage shed and car at two homes
At 8:40 AM a shed behind Judd's Grocery at 418 East Second Street burned with undetermined origin. Owner Gertrude Hodapp reported no one was at the structure. Seymour firefighters fought the blaze from Second and Park. Earlier, at 6:45 PM Tuesday, a George Naylor car at 211 South Poplar Street ignited, confined to the vehicle with minimal damage.

Students Visit Seymour on Industrial Tour
