City Firemen Respond to Weekend Run Two
Seymour fire department made two weekend runs. A Sunday trash fire in the 600 block West Jackson alley caused no damage. A Saturday car fire underhood of a 1956 model owned by Don Baird at 144 Marshall Drive was extinguished upon arrival.

Edward C. Ude, a Dudleytown Lutheran School educator since 1914, was honored at Emanuel Lutheran Church. A special service featured Rev. Omer L. Seymour's Jaycees topped state awards at the Indiana Junior Chamber convention held at the Claypool Hotel in Indianapolis. John M. Hill, regional vice president for Region F, was named outstanding regional VP among 18 nominees. The Seymour group earned first in community development and second in Christmas and religious activities in Division II, with efforts including an emergency vehicle and painting the Seymour Girls' Club building. Attendees from Seymour included Kenneth and Mrs Lewis, James and Mrs Wilde, John M Hill, Richard Moren, and Jack Emley. Richard Rammel was elected president, with officers named from across the state.
