Wife Fights Bull Three Hours to Save Husband
A 75 year old farmer, William Hughes of near Freetown, died after a maddened bull knocked him down and trampled him. His wife fought the beast for three hours, dragging him to safety and summoning help after they escaped to a new field. Coroner W A Dickmeyer noted the incident occurred Saturday morning with Hughes dying at 4 pm.
