Funeral Rites Held For Oil Company Head Kieser
Funeral services for Carl Kieser 57 of Silver Hills New Albany president of the Supreme Oil Company were held at Kraft Funeral Home New Albany. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. He died at his winter home in Fort Myers Florida after ill health. Funeral Services Held For Mrs Estey Norman
Funeral services for Mrs Estey Alice Norman 74 died Sunday at her home six miles east of Heltonville were held today at the Heltonville Methodist church. Rev Elmer C Norman her husband formerly pastor conducted the service. Burial was in Pleasant Run Cemetery. She had a heart ailment for 15 years and was homebound the past year. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary February 28. Survivors include her husband a son Isaac Norman Bedford two daughters Mrs J A Pickens Westville Oklahoma and Miss Elsie Norman South Bend two brothers Howard L McKnight Frank A McKnight of El Paso Texas a half brother Luther McKnight Bedford and a half sister Mrs Clarence Harrell Heltonville. Three grandchildren also survive.

Man Guilty To Check Charge In Jackson Circuit Court
Ezra Martindale of Lawrence county pleaded guilty to issuing a fraudulent check in Brownstown. In Jackson Circuit Court Judge George H. Gossman fined him ten dollars and ten dollars eighty cents costs, plus a six month sentence at the state penal farm suspended. The check for five dollars was given to a Brownstown merchant in October 1949.

John W. Browning 84 formerly of Jackson county died Sunday in Brookings South Dakota after years of illness. Services set for 2 PM Friday at Voss Mortuary with Rev. S J Cross of Shelbyville in charge. Burial Riverview Cemetery. Browning taught in Clearspring and was principal before moving away. Survived by three daughters Mrs Ruth Ray Mrs Lenore Cummins and Mrs Marjorie Hoytes, one sister Mrs Mayetta Robertson, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One son and one brother preceded him.
