Seymour Post 59 celebrates its tenth anniversary with a saucer and tree lunch at the Legion hall next Wednesday March 13. Army experts will prepare real slum gullion for members. The post reports brisk ticket sales for the April 4 Easter dance at Eagles Home with proceeds to fund a drum and bugle corps and its trip to the national convention in Louisville. A Majestic theater minstrel show is in progress for April 2 and 3 with most cast members already chosen.

Fire department responds to roof fire at John Thumser home
The Seniour fire department was called to 309 East Third Street to extinguish a roof blaze started by a flying spark. Damage was slight as Mrs. Thumser, an invalid, was carried from the house.

An Essex sedan stripped of low and second gears runs nonstop from Indianapolis at 9 am to 6 pm Saturday as it tours Indiana. The test aims to prove endurance of the Essex while using only reverse and high gears. Hopewell Garage in Seymour, distributor for Essex and Madison cars, photographed the run. The R V Law Company of Indianapolis arranged the test covering much of Indiana.

Halleck C Dannettell a well known county real estate dealer died at his home 540 West Fourth street after a lengthy illness. Born May 25 1862 in Chestnut Ridge he moved to the city 26 years ago and built a local real estate career.
