Child dies after Fourth Street fire in Seymour
Nellie Pearl Perry seven died at Riley Hospital Indianapolis after a Thursday blaze gutted the family home at 309 East Fourth. She suffered first to third degree burns while her father rescued siblings and searched for her. Gasoline spilled near a couch and a space heater sparked the fire. Funeral Friday in Burkholder Chapel with burial at Riverview Cemetery. Nellie, born March 22 1960 in Orin County Kentucky, was survived by parents Joseph and Florence Harman Perry four sisters a brother and grandmother in Cincinnati.

Browns Town warehouse fire causes total loss
A Tuesday evening blaze behind the Masonic Lodge in Browns Town destroyed a warehouse leased by Western Auto and owned by the lodge. Volunteer crews led by Wilbert Wessel fought the fire for over two hours, aided briefly by Wallonia, with an estimated loss of 14000 dollars. The building held motorcycles boats motors lawn equipment and stock. Civil Defense stayed overnight as firefighters gained access through metal stripping and gaps between structures.
