The Brooks family lost their Jennings County residence and furnishings to a Friday morning fire. Clarence E. Brooks his wife and three children are staying with relatives on Paris Crossing R1. Neighbors helped extinguish the blaze believed caused by a defective flue. Brooks works at Seymour's Noblitt Sparks plant.

Born July 13 1893 in Owen township she was daughter of Mark and Margaret Butler predeceased. She married Fletcher Stafford January 9 1909 in Brownstown and is survived by nine children including Ellen Cockerham Thedford Theodore Fletcher Eugene and Syrus Creson plus her husband. She was a member of Rock of Light Tabernacle Brownstown.
