Second Lieutenant Herman H. Hackman of Brownstown Indiana has arrived at Ellington Air Force Base Texas. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Herman Hackman of Seymour Indiana and his wife Edith resides in Brownstown. He entered service April 28 1951 and was commissioned January 6 1946. He served six months in Italy in 1945 as a radar navigator. He attended Driftwood High School Wallonia Ind and Purdue University Lafayette Ind earning a BS in Agriculture.

Man Charged After Downtown Accident
Donovan Roy Peek of Campbellsburg was to be arraigned in Jackson Circuit Court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He allegedly struck an eastbound 1940 coach driven by Alvin Storey of Seymour on Second Street at Chestnut Street, injuring Mrs Storey and causing about $250 in damage to two vehicles. Police investigated the Friday night crash.

April Court Term Closes After 78 Days in Jackson Circuit
The Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown ended a 78 day term today after sessions began April 2. The court will be in vacation until October 1 for the summer cessation of activities. Judge George H. Gossman will hear pleas of guilty on the first and third Mondays each month, except the first Monday in July, during vacation.
