Man Fined After Accident in Jackson Circuit Court
Pharis Edward Philpot of Browns town R2 was fined 50 dollars and costs and given six months at the state penal farm suspended on good behavior for 90 days. His license may be suspended three years. He pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle under the influence after a Saturday night sideswipe on Pauley’s Camp road near Seymour. Philpot’s 1935 auto, without lights, collided with a northbound truck driven by Donald Pfaffenberger of Seymour. No injuries. Philpot’s car demolished. Additional court actions included divorces for Vila Ra Barnes vs Howard Barnes and Bertha O Sanders vs Clarence E Sanders.

Four Are Fined In City Court In Seymour
Four men pleaded guilty before Mayor Donald L. Heiwig in Seymour city court after weekend arrests by city police. Herbert V. Kirby, 64, of Seymour R2, faced public intoxication charges from 8 40 p m Saturday night on West Tipton street and received a $10 fine plus $13 costs and a six month suspended sentence. James W. Hall, 35, of Seymour, was arrested at 11 45 p m Saturday in East Second street, charged with public intoxication.

Longtime Freetown Matriarch Louisa Brock 91 Dies
Mrs. Louisa Brock, 91, a lifelong Freetown resident and widow of Samuel Brock, died at her daughter Mrs Ed Bells home. Funeral services are Tuesday at 2 PM at the Freetown Evangelical United Brethren Church with Rev Albert Howard officiating. Burial is in Freetown Cemetery. She was born August 12 1861 in Freetown and survived by five children, twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
