Prisoners return to Nashville after unlawful car theft arrest
Three men alleged to have stolen a sedan in Nashville were captured between Hayden and North Vernon and brought back to Nashville by state officers Eugene Vance and J H Smith. The suspects Norman Jackson Malcolm Winifred and Horace Ford of Nashville were arrested after abandoning the vehicle and walking toward North Vernon on U S Route 50.

North Vernon Man Pleads Guilty in Delinquency Case
Lawrence Day of North Vernon pleaded guilty in Bartholomew circuit court to encouraging delinquency and is jailed after failing to post a $100 bond. Three girls arraigned with him also pleaded guilty but received suspended sentences pending other cases. Day admitted prior arrests for public intoxication in Columbus and Seymour. Road Foreman Arthur Byers Fatally Hurt Near Huron
Arthur Lowell Byers twenty nine year old road foreman for J. J. Clymer Construction died from injuries after slipping under a truck he was boarding near Huron on U S Route 50. He sustained internal injuries and shock and died at Bedford hospital after the accident near six a m. Byers born Bicknell May 23 1904 leaves parents and four sisters. Coroner's verdict calls it accidental death.

City Man Carl McBride Dies in Accidental Rifle Shot
Word reached here of the death Wednesday at Shel Byville of Carl McBride a Butler University graduate known to many locals. He visited with Mr and Mrs John Van de Wadle and other residents. The report says a bullet from an accidentally discharged rifle struck him in a garage at the home. The widow and a brother survive. Funeral arrangements were not learned here.

Wheat Prices Steady as Corn Dips Across Markets
Wheat prices held firm in local markets with No 1 soft at 79 cents and No 2 soft one cent lower. Corn fell three cents locally, one cent on Indianapolis, while white and yellow corn sat at 42 cents and mixed at 40. On Indianapolis No 3 corn eased to 44 to 45 cents.
