The Region 11 Development Commission met in Columbus to seek State Highway Commission approval for a pilot public transport system in Jackson, Jennings, Bartholomew, Decatur and Brown Counties. Public Employment Program funds extended to 1975
Edward Edmonds, city development specialist, says Congress extended the Public Employment Program funded by the Emergency Employment Act. Initiated June 15 1973, it runs now through March 31 1975 until a new act is passed. Ten of 35 participants remain employed. 16 found other work. nine left for unknown reasons. Jobs include development specialist, sewer plant attendant, building inspector, and secretary to the building commissioner.
