County Delegates At GOP Meeting
Fifteen Republican delegates to the state GOP convention and George C. Eastin of Brownstown, chair man of the Jackson County Republican Central Committee, traveled to Indianapolis for caucus meetings before the convention opening Friday to nominate the state ticket. The county delegates plan an eighth district delegates meeting at Lincoln Hotel at 8 p m. Three Jackson county youths will serve as ushers or pages on Friday. Seymour Cadets Return From Fifth Cadet Encampment
Sergeant Kenneth Burrell and Second Lieutenant Frank Hutcheson of the Seymour Civil Air Patrol squadron returned home from the fifth annual Cadet Encampment at Bakalar Air Base near Columbus. They arrived June 16 and, after initial demotion to privates, were promoted to corporals. The pair participated in drills, weather and flight theory classes, and orientation flights. They aided during a 36 hour flood alert, and Flight C of Squad ron B earned praise in the encampment parade.

A seven room brick home owned by Elizabeth Hallow on U S Route 50, west of Seymour, burned to the ground in the early hours. Virgil Hallow and family escaped with no injuries as neighbors and Allen Hubbard fought the blaze. cause undetermined though lightning is suspected. Most furnishings were saved and moved to Everett Otte’s barn. The home was partially insured.

Pension Measure Sent To Senate
