Robert Bulleit, 43, named superintendent of the Seymour Community Schools by Rodman C. Pruitt in the absence of Charles Hauenschild. Bulleit, born Corydon, holds A B from DePauw 1933 and M S from Indiana University 1940, and will assume duties August 1 after a Salem Schools tenure since 1949. He has coached, led Corydon, French Lick, and Salem, and is active in Rotary and Lions clubs. Mrs. Bulleit is an Indiana University graduate.

First Baptist Church marked its 115th anniversary with a building fund drive. The goal set at 100 per year totaled 11 500, but donations reached 13 600, surpassing the target by 2 100. Richard Kempton aged 17 of Indianapolis was taken into custody in Louisville by Jefferson County patrol for parole violation and theft of a green 1953 dual control driver training car from Lexington in Scott County. Two youths and a girl were detained: William Paul Collier Jr 24 Renzell B Collins 16 and Sally Suesan Cape 18 all of Indianapolis. State police were notified. The car stolen near Lexington was found wrecked two miles away. a gun missing from the wrecked car has not been located.
