Federal flood restoration loans available in Indiana’s Jackson County

Man Dies After Truck Wreck at Sixth and Elm
Douglas H. Porter twenty five of North Vernon succumbs to internal injuries after a loaded crushed stone truck skids into utility poles at the Sixth and Elm intersection in Seymour and overturns. Porter, a World War I veteran, died Wednesday night at Schneck Memorial Hospital. The crash involved a Hallie Corya dump truck from North Vernon and a coal truck driven by Chester Shipley.

Seymour youngsters show strong interest in the tenth national Swim For Health Week with about seventy pupils enrolled in beginning swimming at Seymour Municipal Pool. Youth Improves After Fall From Road Grader Near Sauers
Norman Eggersman fourteen year old son of Mr and Mrs Fred Eggersman living two and a half miles south of Sauers is reported improving after falling from a road grader operated by his father. He was struck by the guide wheels causing chest and stomach injuries and was taken to a Brownstown physician. He has been confined to bed but Wednesday was reported much improved.
