June Rain Totals Reach Over Five Inches For June
Last week brought five days of rain pushing June rainfall to 5.06 inches the first time since 1973 that the month exceeded five inches. A Saturday reading of .14 inches followed higher daily totals with .27 on Tuesday .81 on Wednesday .02 on Thursday and 1.80 on Friday. The White River rose to 2.3 feet before dropping to 2.0 feet. forecasts call for showers and thunderstorms through Friday with highs in the 80s and 90s and humid conditions statewide.

Carillon Dedication at Riverview Cemetery
More than 200 people attended a Sunday dedication at Riverview Cemetery for the Carillon of Bells a gift from the late Miss Inez and Miss Nora Persinger. The 40 foot tower houses 50 miniature bells with Auto Bell roll playback and daily five chimes. John Klein of Sellersville Penn gave the recital as Raymond Dauer and Louis Abraham accepted the gift for the cemetery board.
