Tragedy At White River Drowns Brownstown Girl
Carolyn Stahl 16, Brownstown R2, drowned while wading in White River five miles west of Seymour during a noon picnic. Four Brownstown girls were present when she was swept away. Doris Hamer attempted rescue but failed. Search by state police, conservation officer, sheriff, and volunteers continued into Sunday night and resumed Monday morning for the body.

First Methodist Men Set Outing Wednesday
The June meeting of the Men s Club of the First Methodist Church will be held Wednesday night at the cabin of H F White at Starve Hollow Lake near Wallonia. A number of the men will go to the cabin in the afternoon to horseshoe croquet fish or boat in the Wallonia lake. Supper at 7 o clock followed by the meeting and installation of officers. Those going for supper and night meeting should meet at the church at 6 o'clock Wednesday night.

Carnival Men Put Under 3500 Bond
Two carnival operators tied to a Seymour event were sentenced in Jackson Circuit Court to 30 days in state pen and fined 10 plus costs for disorderly conduct after a Brownstown downtown fight. William McClellan and C L Carawan had $3500 bond set on a deferred narcotics arraignment. Prosecutor Laupus alleged they obtained dihydromorphine via false addresses, may face federal narcotics action, and a court date looms for other cases.

Texas Eastern Transmission receives Federal Power Commission approval to remove most of the Little Big Inch gas line and replace it with a petroleum products pipeline system from Beaumont Texas to a terminal on the Ohio River near Moundsville West Virginia. The project costs about 86.6 million dollars with 14.8 million for reconversion and 71.8 million for the 382 mile pipeline. The plan includes senior financing backed by eight insurance companies for 40 million dollars of first mortgage pipeline bonds. The line is expected to begin operation as a common carrier of refined products by fall 1956 under ICC oversight for the products segment.

Robert Allen Helmbrecht a 19 year old Seymour driver faced three charges after a high speed chase on South O'Brien street road. He reached speeds over 80 mph before the 1937 sedan overturned near a Pennsylva nia Railroad crossing. A passenger Ronald Nichols 19 was treated and released. Helmbrecht pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined with costs. two other charges await city court. The crash caused about 100 in vehicle damage and 200 in lawn hedge and a tree damage.
