X Ray Unit Will Tour Downtown Seymour For Free Chest X Rays
A mobile X ray unit and an Indiana state health unit will offer free chest X rays for residents over 15 during the final week of a three week county survey. In Seymour the Jackson County Tuberculosis Association unit will be at the Seymour National Bank on West Second Street with daytime and limited evening hours next week. The Seymour Public Library reports a record 535 readers joined the 1953 vacation club By Rocket to Adventure. Funeral Rites Today For Mrs Kloss Niece
Funeral services were set for 1 30 pm at Hathaway Funeral Home Columbus for Mrs Gladys Pearl Johnson 48 who died Thursday in Bartholomew County Hospital. Burial was planned at Garland Brook Cemetery. She suffered a fractured skull in a fall at her home Tuesday night the cause given as a fainting spell. Austin Korean Veteran Returns Home From Korea
Sgt. Eugene L. Perry of the 45th Infantry Division is returning to the United States after serving in Korea. He is a supply sergeant with the 179th Infantry Regiment, arrived in July 1952 from Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky, and has earned the Korean Service Ribbon the UN Service Ribbon and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Perry a graduate of Austin High School entered the Army in January 1952. His wife Thelma and parents Mr and Mrs A L Perry reside in Austin. The 45th Division has participated in major actions including the Battle for T Bone Hill and has been in Korea since December 1951.
