Woolen Mills Election May Decide AFL or CIO Union
Production and maintenance workers at Seymour Woolen Mills will vote on June 29 to choose whether the AFL affiliated Federal Labor Union No. 21367 or the CIO affiliated Textile Workers Organizing Committee becomes the sole bargaining representative. The election is overseen by NLRB Regional Director Robert H. Cowdrill with ballots listing only the two unions. Eligible voters are production and maintenance staff on payrolls for the periods ending September 30 and October 15, 1937. supervisors and clerical workers are not eligible. Balloting runs 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Washington School basement, with secret ballots and protections against interference.

Mrs Bottorff Dies Sunday After Stroke At 79
Mary Alice Bottorff age seventy nine longtime Jackson county resident died at her Kurtz home Sunday afternoon after a five week illness from a stroke. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 10 from Kurtz Church with Rev. E Pedicord. Burial in Clearspring cemetery. She was born August 30 1858 near Medora and survived by three children Ella Tabor Mike Bottorff and Lina Kindred.
