Jackson County will spray two swampy areas near Seymour and Wallonia by airplane around 6 p.m. using malathion after the county sanitarian authorized Ag Aviation Inc. The plan targets a 15 acre swamp between Enos and Redding Roads and North U.S. 31 and a 2 acre swamp west of Indiana 135 near Wallonia. Residents should stay indoors during spraying.

Air Show At Freeman Field Promises Three Day Displays
The Indiana Sports Aviation Association plans a July 3 to 5 air show at Freeman Field with 200 fliers. Driver Injured As Wrecks Cause $5,000 Damage
City police logged six traffic accidents Friday and this morning causing injuries and over $5,000 in damage. Andy Riley Jr., 31, was injured after losing control on Ewing Street near 16th Street and was hospitalized with cuts abrasions and possible internal injuries. The crash damaged about $1,000 in the front of his car. Earlier a two-vehicle crash on North O’Brien Street damaged a 1970 sedan driven by Gloria Elsner and a 1969 two-door auto driven by James Wilson.

After an all night session the jury of nine men and three women is still deliberating in the Jones murder trial at Bedford's Lawrence Circuit Court. Defendant Robert Paul Jones 32 of Columbus is charged with three counts of first degree murder for the November 9 1975 shootings at Pauls Cafe in Columbus killing Tybith Campbell Leslie Maurice Crum and James Malone Jr. Jones pleads not guilty by reason of insanity.
