Area Crime Board Plans Conference in Indiana
Regional law enforcement and judicial officials from six counties will attend an afternoon conference on Monday June 30 at the Colonial Inn Restaurant in Jeffersonville. Judge Jonathan J. A 7,200-volt power line killed 29 year old Jack L. Trato of Mitchell while he was erecting a television antenna at his residence. Coroner Lawrence County Dr Lawrence E Benham said Trato stood on wet ground as the mast fell into contact with the live line.

Norman man charged with illegal dumping at county landfill
A Norman man, 40, William D. Caudill, was arrested by state police trooper Mickey E. Hudson at 9 p.m. for illegal dumping of debris near Clear Spring along County Road 500 West. He also faces a charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor. two other friends were arrested. The incident followed the county landfill opening Tuesday, which lawmen say will curb illegal dumping. Also jailed were Donald W. Frazier 23 and Elmer Wayne Cheek 19 on minor in possession and furnishing alcohol charges, Shelia Lahrman 21 on vagrancy, and a 16-year-old Medora youth for juvenile delinquency tied to a car battery theft.
