Motorboat Found Submerged in Driftwood River
A late model motorboat, 14 feet long with a 12 horsepower 1956 outboard, was found partially submerged in about five feet of water entangled in driftwood in the Driftwood River near Columbus. Earl Landis reported the boat, and Conservation Officer Carroll Green said it likely broke loose from moorings or was stolen and washed downstream during last week’s flood.

Youth Killed In Car Truck Crash Near Azalia
An Alabama youth, Harlan Glenn King, 18, of Lexington, died when the car carrying him veered into a northbound truck on U S 31 near Azalia. Driver Bobby Joe Lash, 20, of Indianapolis, was injured. Thelbert Granger, 27, of Bowling Green Ky, escaped with minor injuries as his truck overturned. Investigators reported Lash fell asleep at the wheel, the collision tearing loose a trailer wheel and triggering the crash.
