CAP Squadron Opens Quarters In City
CAP Squadron 5211-3 of the Civil Air Patrol has moved into its own building at the rear of 513 South Poplar Street. The unit received a naval gun turret and, with the ATC transfer, more training gear is expected. Capt. Vowel, army liaison, coordinates ATC CAP inventories and inspections and predicts extensive cadet training this summer. Summer camps at George Field near Vincennes and Stout Field in Indianapolis are open with more dates to come.

Youths 18 25 to Be Re examined in Indiana
Jackson county youths aged eighteen to twenty five face re examination by September 1 announced by Major Robert W. Platte of the Indiana Selective Service office in Indianapolis. Orlando C Dode Graves eighty two lifelong Jackson county resident died Monday night at Schneck Memorial Hospital after a six year illness. He was born October 20 1862 in Jennings County Indiana and survived by five children, eighteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Funeral at St Ambrose Church with burial at Riverview Cemetery.

Truck Strikes Spare Tire and Overturns Near Seymour
A semi-trailer laden truck overturned after striking a roadside spare tire on U S Route 31 two miles north of the U S Route 50 junction east of Seymour. No injuries were reported and the vehicle, belonging to Standard Motor Freight of Indianapolis, was en route south. State police investigated.
