Revered Rev J F Severinghaus Dies at 87
The Rev J F Severinghaus, 87, beloved retired German Methodist minister, died at his home Monday night. Funeral Thursday at 10 30 at Trinity Methodist Church with pastors and district superintendent in attendance. He preached over 6000 sermons and leaves a family of ministers and lay preachers. Born in Osnabruck Germany on August 26 1840 he came to the United States at 13, married twice, and pursued ministry and medicine. He served the Central German Conference most of his life and began ministry at age 26.
