Approximately four thousand people from Seymour, Jackson County, nearby Indiana counties, and cities such as Cincinnati Indianapolis and Louisville attended the Immanuel Lutheran Church diamond jubilee closing service at Shields High School gym. Private First Class Ralph L Dickmeyer son of Mr and Mrs William E Dickmeyer of Wallonia Pa was slightly wounded in action on Luzon according to a War Department message to his parents. He graduated from Salem High School and has served about a year in the army. His parents in Washington County on a Wal lonia rural route have no further details yet.

Excise Men Visit Establishments Near Seymour
State excise police with local officers visited two roadside establishments near Seymour on Saturday night and cited several people for carrying liquor into the venues. Swim for Health Week Begins Amid Weather Hurdles
About 800 swimmers attended Seymour Municipal Pool on Sunday for the tenth annual Swim For Health Week. Rain later interfered, but three new beginning classes were announced to start this week with instructors Marilyn and Carolyn Sweazey and Lynn SchriER, all newly trained at a Red Cross aquatic school in Akron Ohio.
