Miles Standish twenty six a Seymour PSA salesman died at Schneck Memorial Hospital after a crash on U S 50 near a detour west of Brownstown. Claude Green twenty eight of Bedford was in critical condition with multiple injuries. three others escaped with minor injuries. Sheriff Williams Barkman said Standish was en route west and appeared to be turning onto Road 50 when the log truck collided, drove into a cornfield, and crushed its cab. Standish’s mother and sister were at the scene.

Louisville Man Is Under Arrest
Edgar Fox of Louisville staying in Seymour faced a 3 pm court appearance before Mayor Burkart on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He pleaded not guilty, posted bond of $100, and a second charge of driving without a license was continued. Police said his coupe damaged a flood light post at Kerrick service station, with $2 estimated damage and a small liquor quantity found in the car. The Seymour night police made the arrest around 1:30 am.
