Police and volunteers extended the hunt for 21 year old Gary D. Rose believed to have drowned after diving from the old covered bridge on Ind 235 near Medora. Witnesses say his body surfaced after the dive and he showed a head wound. Police later corrected that Harold Bowman was the injured jumper rather than Carl Gray.

Seymour resident Rudolph H. Van Essen, 44, was injured Saturday afternoon when his 1972 motorcycle was hit from behind by Donald E. Isaacs Jr., 23, in a 1972 two-door car at the Fourteenth and Ewing streets intersection. Van Essen was treated for back pains and minor cuts and hospitalised. vehicle damages were estimated at 200 for the car and 100 for the motorcycle.

Police Identify Victim of Interstate 65 Crash
An Indianapolis soldier, Jerry W. Flippo 20, was killed in a rear end crash on I 65 six miles south of Columbus as his car burned after a collision. Ronald G. Beckman 20 of Franklin was charged with reckless homicide and drunken driving. A second death, Steven Stuart 19 of rural Logansport, died in a Cass County crash nearby. Further victims included Donald E. Rudd 41 of Marion in a separate Blackford County collision.
