Three serious crashes injure four near Seymour on U S 31 A

Five injuries occurred in a Friday crash on U S 31 A one half mile north of Seymour. Kyle Maggard 20 of Seymour and Cleatus Hutchinson 64 of Medora were among the injured along with Audrey Hutchinson and Ronald Hutchinson. Police said Maggard swerved and struck Hutchinson as a second auto followed. Both cars were total losses. The investigation continues with Trooper James C. Blevins leading.

Woman Jumps From Vehicle During Car Ride Incident

An Ohio mother was admitted to Schneck Memorial Hospital after reportedly leaping from a moving car on U S 50 between Seymour and Brownstown at 1 15 am. The woman and her husband were arguing while their children rode in the car. her condition is described as not serious. Trooper Richard D Barker investigated.

Burglary Probes At Holiday Inn Cars Age 1966 Wing Entry

Police investigate two car burglaries at the Holiday Inn on East Tipton Street. Clothes and wedding gifts valued at about 998 dollars were taken from a 1966 Montgomery car, with entry through a cozy wing, and seven jewelry display cases valued around 860 dollars were taken from a 1966 Louisville car. A third auto burglary remains unsolved.

The Rev. G C Porter moves from Seymour to Plainville in the Washington charge. The Rev Harold Koolmeyer becomes Seymour’s new pastor after serving Perryville Pleasant Hill Mauckport Ogilville Sardinia and French Lick. A merger of Evangelical United Brethren and Methodists was approved by a slim margin and key assignments for area churches were announced with July as the start.

County Describes Jackson County as Accident Prone This Week

The week saw three serious crashes and many fender benders in Jackson County. Officers cited teens and young adults for reckless driving and property damage as warm weather traffic rose.

Mankiller Lands 51 Inch Muskie in Minnesota Contest

Mankiller and son Gregg display a 40 pound 3 ounce muskie caught at Lake of the Woods Minnesota. The elder angler will have the 51 inch fish mounted and has entered it in several contests including Sports Afield’s national fishing contest.
