War Bond Sales Fall Short of June Quota in County Totals
Jackson County war bond buyers were $63,364.50 short of the $121,461 June quota with one week left. For June 14 to 19 sales totaled $15,908.75, the lowest weekly figure of the month, while three weeks produced $58,096.50. Banks led with $10,376.25, post offices $4,856.25, Freeman Army Air Field $112.50, Seymour theatre $187.50, building and loan firms $357.50, and credit unions $18.75.

Mrs Bohnenkamp Dies at 71 After Short Illness
Anna W Lange Bohnenkamp age 71 of 607 West Laurel Street died at 12 55 this morning after a six day illness. Funeral services set for Friday at 1 30 from Voss Mortuary and 2 from Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev E E Streufert in charge. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery. She was born in Hanover Germany June 1 1872 and married George H Bohnenkamp in Seymour October 18 1891 who died in 1921. She was active in Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid Missionary Society and the Thursday Evening Home Economics club. Seven children survive plus thirteen grandchildren and a brother Henry Lange.

Oil In Big Inch To Be Moved At 17 MPH

All internees held in concentration camps in North Africa before the Allied landings on November 8 have been released. The decision by the joint commission for political prisoners and refugees in Algiers pardons about 200 political prisoners for disciplinary offences and allows many to sign civilian work contracts with Allied forces. Many Spanish Republicans and Jewish workers will transfer to other arrangements as contracts end or are honored by the U.S. and British facilities.

Burial rites for Mrs Rosalie Stout widow of E. W. Stout will be held at Riverview Cemetery at 3 PM Saturday. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct the services.
