Youths Injured In Crash. Trooper Credited With Life Save
Two teens remained in Riley Hospital after a Monday crash at Tipton and O'Brien streets. Lonnie Cole 15 suffered head and body lacerations and possible skull fracture while Richard Elliott 14 had a skull fracture and other injuries. Trooper Dencil Haycox resuscitated Elliott at the scene before EMS transported them to Schneck Memorial, then Riley Hospital. Chief Robert Gill investigated.

Plane crash near Port Royal injures Arlene Hogue
Arlene Hogue of Indianapolis was seriously injured when the single engine plane crash landed in a corn field 3 miles east of Port Royal. Her husband Larry and two sons Norman and Anthony were unhurt. The family was en route from Indianapolis to Carrollton.
