Fire Destroys Residence in Seymour
Firefighters from Jackson Washington and Vernon Townships battled a blaze that destroyed the home of Wilma Bolton 40 Seymour R2 at about 3:30 p m Wednesday. Bolton worked in data processing at The H O Canfield Co. and her family planned to stay with relatives. Two grandchildren witnessed flames after a fuse box burst, and Rebecca Bolton alerted authorities to the fire.

Four Injured In Two-Vehicle Collision In Seymour
Four persons were hurt in two separate wrecks investigated by Seymour police on Wednesday afternoon. Frances A. Reedy and Bruce Reedy, along with Walter Stuckwisch and Ellen Roth, sustained injuries in the 12:53 p.m. crash at South Poplar and West Tipton. All were taken to Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital. Policemen estimated $2,400 in vehicle damage. A second incident at 4:22 p.m. on East Fifth Street involved Barbara Fleenor and Carolyn Besser with minor damage totals.

Vernon Township MSD tours new vocational facility
The Metropolitan School District of Vernon Township board toured the new vocational building and the gym roof Wednesday night. Superintendent Robert Gingher announced a final roofing inspection with Environmental Consultants this weekend and the lighting change urged by Public Service Indiana was approved. The board approved contracts for 1974-75 and accepted resignations of Marvin Stout and Dan Freed, plus renewed non teaching staff contracts.

Cat Killer At Large Threatens Seymour Pets
Seymour residents warned to keep cats indoors as seven dead felines were found in Shields Park pool since Memorial Day weekend. Lifeguards Dan Meek and Mindy Cherry say the cats were deliberately thrown in by an unknown assailant, starting with four kittens and a mother cat in late May. A note signed by Big Daddy Cat Killer was found with a cage at pool bottom. The pool remains safe as filtration continues every six hours.
