City police reported four public intoxication arrests over the weekend in Seymour. All pleaded guilty before Mayor Donald L. Herwig and were fined. names include Jack H. Miller Stanley Leszcynski Robert W. Downing Johnny Burke and Pearl Evans. One case involving Preston Bogard was not heard and will be dismissed and refiled in Jackson Circuit Court.

Two Injured In One-Car Accident Near Sparksville
Two young men were hospitalized after a one car crash on the Sparksville Fort Ritner road near Sparksville. James E. Hackney, 24, Orleans R3, is in fair condition with severe elbow lacerations, facial injuries and leg damage. J. E. Roop, 26, Campbellsburg Oir, was treated for minor injuries and appeared semi conscious. Roop was cited for reckless driving after claiming he drove too fast into a curve. The car skidded and rolled two and a half times, ending on its top in an alfalfa field. The wreck was the weekend’s sole police report amid fine weather.

Two brothers Hugh F. Young 29 and Robert L. Young 27 were killed when their small plane crashed seven miles southeast of Bedford Indiana after circling to wave to their grandfather plowing a field. A hunter saw the engine sputter and the craft plunge. The brothers, born in Lawrence County, had been living in Indianapolis after returning from Phoenix Arizona.
