John W. Hurbaugh USN son of Mr and Mrs Garland Hurbaugh 406 East Howard Crothersville is aboard the destroyer USS Charles S Sperry. The Sperry arrived in the Far East last fall and has taken part in naval bombardment of the Korean coast. She now serves with a high speed task force guarding carriers from submarines repelling enemy planes and aiding downed pilots.

Word reaches Seymour of the death of Vv A Wray formerly of Seymour. Born Norman he was 71 and died at his Terre Haute home. A retired agent for the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific Railway he had been a ticket agent in Seymour. Survivors include two Norman and Indianapolis sisters plus three Seymour nieces. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 1 30 p m from Isaac Ball Funeral Home in Terre Haute.

Woman Found Guilty by Jury in DUI Case
Christina O Niel of Kurtz was found guilty by a Jackson Circuit Court jury after about 20 minutes of deliberation. She faced charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, received a $75 fine plus $21.05 costs, and a 90 day license suspension recommended by Judge George H. Gossman. She was arrested April 4 after a property damage crash in Browns town by Trooper Lawrence Conway.

Minor collision damages two cars near Acme
State Road 258 about 1.3 miles west of Acme saw a minor crash at 6:45 this morning. Charles Loren Jackson of Kurtz stopped suddenly and was rear ended by James Martin Roll of Kurtz Ri. About 50 dollars in damage occurred. no injuries reported.
