White River at the Rockford pumping station fell from a June peak of twelve feet five inches to eleven and a half feet by early afternoon. The surge left hundreds of Jackson county crops at risk as rainfall and storms continued to threaten lowlands. State Road 258 between Seymour and Cortland remained flooded as water reached floorboards in some vehicles.
