Man Fined After Crash at Sixth and Ewing Streets
Arthur Dettmer of Columbus was fined 5 dollars and costs totaling 8.75 dollars in Seymour Justice of Peace Court for failure to yield right of way after a collision at the Sixth and Ewing intersection. John F. Cordell of 730 West Brown streets drove north on Ewing in a 1934 coupe, Dettmer drove east on Sixth in a 1940 model coupe. Officer Harold E. Chambers investigated and arrested Dettmer.

Brownstown weighs legal response to water rate hike
Brownstown officials voted to hire Indianapolis CPA Clement L. Stanford to prepare briefs for filing with the Indiana Public Service Commission in opposition to a proposed nearly 50 percent water rate increase for Brownstown consumers. The measure would raise annual bills by about 4500 dollars. The town itself would see no rate rise for hydrants.

The first, on Lester Fillenworth’s Dearborn county farm, showcases 0-20-20 at 100, 200, and 400 lb rates with 20% superphosphate 0-20-10 and 0-10-20 at 400 lb. Ammonium nitrate 80 lb ac applied in April on land that had 400 lb of 0-20-20. Wheat clover and grass seedings show effects. The second demonstration location is continued on page 4 column.
