Tax Settlement Being Prepared In Jackson County
Jackson County plans a preliminary tax settlement totaling about 285 500 to distribute to taxing units. Auditor Jason Bottorff expects completion within ten days after which checks will be issued for spring real estate and personal property taxes bank and building loan taxes and moratorium revenue. Moratorium payments this spring totaled 77 27 and current six month bank and building loan taxes for December 1936 through May 1937 were 5 363 77 and 1 292 71 respectively. Total potential real estate and property tax revenue if all current and delinquent taxes were collected would be 541 928 67 with refunds of 175 91 issued for erroneous spring installments.

Bartholomew county youth Odo Sullivan aged fifteen was captured near his parents home two weeks after planning a theater robbery in Seymour.
