The Metropolitan School District of Vernon Township board signed contracts for the 1976-77 school year and summer programs. In broad daylight two Clark County men attempted to steal a riding lawn mower from a rural Seymour man on Wednesday afternoon. They were placed in the county jail pending further proceedings.

Roger D. Propes, 21, and Danny J. Blakey, 18, both of Jeffersonville, were arrested by Indiana state police on theft charges after a riding mower valued at over 100 dollars disappeared from William Kamman’s residence in Seymour RG. Kamman tracked the mower’s footprints across fields and along railroad tracks before identifying the suspects, who were found walking along a river bottom road two miles east of Shieldstown.

A public health program on hypertension titled You Your Heart and Your Blood Pressure will be held at 1 pm June 21 at Central Christian Church.
