Second Free Swim Class Draws 105 Children To Pool
More than 100 children aged nine and 10 took part in free swimming at Seymour municipal pool Shields Park on Tuesday. In total 105 attended, with 75 aged 11 and 12 present earlier, bringing two day enrollment near 400 and projections over 500 with Thursday's over 12 group. Pool manager Joe Gill notes plans to split under eight class among eight instructors and mentions daily schedules and a public address system installed by the park committee for safety and announcements.

David G. Lucas, 19, of Brownstown, remained in fair condition at Schneck Memorial Hospital after a Tuesday morning roof fall on South Main street. X rays were taken to assess injuries. Also treated were Mrs. William M. Londot Sr., who had hip pain after tripping on a lamp cord, and Wanda Stillwell, 10, checked for a possible arm injury from a fall during play.

Former Teamsters chief Dave Beck was indicted by a federal grand jury on taking $200,000 from two trucking executives. Roy Fruehauf of Fruehauf Trailer Co and Burge Seymour of Associated Transport were also charged. The money was allegedly passed on June 21, 1954. Pleas set for June 24.

Coyle Brothers Captured After Mass Manhunt
The Coyle brothers were found in woods about a half mile from the liquor store they held up. William Coyle, 22, died at St Luke's Hospital from police bullets. John Coyle, 24, survived unhurt. They had fled Philadelphia after an alleged police officer killing and kidnapped William Sedgwick, who escaped. A 400-strong posse hunted them from Monday morning.
