A midweek heat wave eased briefly as Seymour recorded 60 inch rain with wind damage in Bedford and elsewhere. Indianap olis saw damage and a lightning strike injured a four year old in Anderson. White River rose .8 feet to 2.2 feet and Bedford’s 10 minute storm left trees down and utilities crews repairing lines.

Clifford Jones 24 of Springville and Donald L. Bryant 20 of Seymour were arraigned in Lawrence Circuit Court at Bedford after both pleaded guilty to vehicle taking. Judge Chester A. Davis sentenced each to one to ten years at the Indiana State Reformatory and disfranchised them for five years. They were charged with stealing an automobile owned by Everett Terry, Bedford R4, on June 5.

A 1934 half ton pickup driven by Albert C Nowland 29 Medora Rl lost a left rear wheel on U S 50 three miles west of Browns Town.
