An unemployed Locust Grove man was arrested in Ottawa County as authorities pursue leads in the sex murders of three Girl Scouts. Scottsburg Woman To Stand Trial
An Indiana woman, Leslie Ann Standifer of Scottsburg, is ordered by a Los Angeles federal court to stand trial in Tennessee for the murder of Nashville businesswoman Phyllis Moore. Moore was found shot dead Aug. 16 in Great Smoky Mountains National Park after Standifer allegedly bought a Scottsburg restaurant from Moore. Standifer was arrested in Los Angeles May 18 and denied her identity.

Developers H William Prentice and James Thompson were bound by a $140000 performance bond to cover initial costs. A petition with eight residents urged drainage improvements to remove a north south and east west ditch flagged as a health hazard.
