Seymour Board Names Patrolman and Approves Pipe Bid
Seymour board of public works and safety appointed a new city patrolman William Ray Nichols 22 of 251 South Vine Street effective June 16 for a nine month probation. The board approved Kaiser Aluminum for 1 800 feet of sewer pipe at 3078. Logansport Metal Culvert bid 3750 53. A culvert work at 103 Meadowlark Drive and a change order for two new fire stations adding 1 inch water lines and tank truck fill lines at 108 to Abraham and Sons with cost 108. The decision followed recommendations by engineer Rodney H Ludwig and Mayor James L Lapus.

Two Hour Search Ends In Capture
A two hour manhunt in Jackson County ended with the capture of Carl Dean Lambert by state police and sheriff deputies. Lambert allegedly tried to break into a house and threatened a family with a shotgun before being persuaded to surrender by his brother Lyman. Clampitt filed disorderly conduct charges and Lambert faces a local court appearance in Brownstown.
