Clyde Bill Goen of Salem was elected chairman of district two of the Indiana Tourist Development Council at a Seymour Elks Club meeting. The gathering drew more than 70 representatives from 11 southern Indiana counties to hear speakers including Lt. Gov. Robert Rock and Indiana Commerce officials outline tourism plans and federal funds for local projects.

The Seymour Common Council approved on third reading a 121 acre rezoning along U.S. 50 west of I-65. It also passed first readings to rezone nearby land, endorsed a traffic light request, and formed a park committee led by J Allen Brackemyre. Bicycle Car Collision Injures Youth on Chestnut Street
An eight year old rider suffered abrasions after a car driven by off duty city officer James E. Bullard bumped the bicycle at Chestnut and Oak streets at 4 26 p m Monday. The youth, Steve Merrick, escaped hospital care. The bike damage was listed at 15 dollars and Bullard's 1962 auto at one dollar.
