A Thursday night fire at the Bee Hive building 120 West Second Street started below the second story due to defective wiring near an external neon sign. Firemen broke into the upstairs office of J. H. Hedden. total loss estimated at $300 with only window damage to the first floor display. A passerby alerted authorities and a Scottsburg technician was brought in to inspect the neon setup.

Defendant Fined After Changing Plea in Circuit Court
In Jackson Circuit Court Judge Chester A. Davis presided as Ellis Campbell of Crothersville pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. Campbell was fined $25 and costs and received a 60 day sentence to the state farm, suspended.
