A jury was obtained in Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown for Mrs. Pearly Britt a 21 year old Austin mother charged with three counts of armed robbery in hitch hitchhike holdups on U S Route 31 the night of March 14 The trial proceeds with Judge George H Gossman presiding The defendant was arrested after an all night absence at her home trailer near Austin and is accused of robbing truck driver Otis Robertson and two Indianapolis men on different segments of Route 31 The case continues on page 8 column 6.

Funeral services for Dr. H. Frank Brown 77 a longtime Seymour veterinarian who died Monday afternoon will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tower and Burkholder Funeral Home with Rev. C. D. Patterson of Trinity Methodist Church presiding. Burial will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit after 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. 938 Trucks Weighed In Check Near Seymour
State police from the Seymour post weighed 938 trucks during a 20 hour road check at permanent pit scales on U S Road 31 east of Seymour. Fifteen drivers were arrested for overweight trucks. six faced city court arraignments, the others were cited to appear in justice of the peace courts. The operation ran from 3 PM Monday to 11 AM today with nine officers participating. No trucks were heavy enough for circuit court citations.

Mobile X-ray Unit Breaks Down in Jackson County
The mobile X-ray unit serving Jackson County broke down this morning on West Second Street near Seymour National Bank. Technicians James B. Richardson and G. Oscar Boswell Jr. worked to repair it as several hundred residents were turned away. A replacement part was being flown in from Indianapolis, with X-rays hoped to resume this afternoon and extend past 5 PM. The unit must move to Freetown Wednesday morning, and only 87 people had been X-rayed downtown.
