The Seymour Municipal Swimming Pool in Shields Park will open Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock for the 1948 summer season. James F. Deputy, pool manager, supervises preparations with a filled pool and anticipated warm water for a large opening crowd. Season tickets are on sale downtown. tickets good for 10 swims also available. Mrs Dewey Young Injured In Stairs Fall In Columbus Home
Mrs Earlyn Houghland Young of Columbus wife of Dewey Young and a former Seymour resident slipped on a stairway struck her head and cracked the hip socket while unconscious. She has been in Columbus hospital for a week and will need about six more weeks in bed.

Brownstown Board Begins Park Improvements
Brownstown is funding improvements to its municipal park with about 52 thousand dollars raised by the Lions Club and local groups. First, a new backstop and fencing were completed, cost about 800 dollars, with next steps including 350 new seats to raise total bleacher capacity to 650 and possible relocation to Brownstown High School gymnasium.
