Two Injured In Accident Here At Tipton and Shepman
Two motorists from Seymour suffered neck pains after a Friday afternoon collision at Tipton street and Shepman avenue. Virginia Baxter 19 and William Hukill 27 were taken to Schneck Memorial Hospital after their late model sedans were damaged in a three vehicle crash involving a Brownstown truck driven by Steve Beavers 18. Beavers truck rear ended Hukill pushing the car into Baxter.

Jail inmate intake rises in May while charges dip
The Jackson County sheriff reports 129 people booked in May, up 13 from April, with 150 total charges filed, four fewer than the prior month. Of those jailed, 92 were adult males, 12 females, 20 male youths, and five female youths, with driving while under the influence the most common charge in May as in April.

Steam Special to Tour the Chessie System This Summer
A Chessie System Steam Special train will run May 7 to October 10 touring ten states to mark the B and O Railroad Sesquicentennial. Locomotive No. 2101 will power the 18 car train with open and air conditioned coaches, a first class parlor car, an observation car, a dining-snack car, and a gift shop. The August 14 Sunday run will go from Cincinnati to North Vernon and back with Albert Lucas of Seymour as expected conductor.
