Contractor Start On Community Drive In Seymour
Pottschmidt Construction Company in Seymour R2 is to begin base course work next week on Community Drive a north south thoroughfare parallel to Von Fange Ditch near the new high school and First Baptist Church properties between Second and Sixth streets. The city engineer said the project aims to have the street completed except for surfacing by Labor Day. Extensions to Third and Fourth streets west over the ditch were discussed to connect with Community Drive and West Fourth Street. Culverts may be built at two outlets to improve access to the school and church.

The Seymour Community Schools board authorized 165000 for furniture and equipment for the new senior high, 15000 for Community Drive costs, and scheduled July 8 auctions for two buildings, a boiler, and a 42 passenger bus. They also invited bids for a new 60 passenger bus and arranged notices for bids and sales.
Bids For Area Bridges To Be Taken June 30
The Indiana state highway department will open bids June 30 for 31 bridge projects statewide including two I 65 projects in Jackson County and a flood damaged county bridge north of Acme. County officials expect federal aid cover up to 2000 dollars for repairs, with any excess cost borne by the county.

Seymour and Jackson county residents will see the Harrison County centennial stage coach in Shields Park tonight. The coach arrives from Browns Town at 3 30 p m led by Officer Jackie R Nowling. Mayor John C Isaacs and Chamber president Donald L Herwig will welcome it. The entourage includes Corydon banners and trucks for the July 17 29 fair.
