Owens bridge across Flatrock river was badly damaged by dynamite. Abutment at the east end torn away. An effort to learn who caused the explosion. Farmer Dies as Lightning Strikes Near Nashville
Virgil Tipton aged eighteen, a Brown County farmer living three and a half miles west of Nashville, was killed instantly Friday afternoon when struck by a bolt while plowing. The two horses hitched to the plow were also killed. Tipton recently moved from Kentucky and was unmarried.
