Brownstown Ammonia Crash Kills Two Drivers
A tanker carrying liquid ammonia crashed near the Ohio line in Dearborn County. Driver John E. England 24 of Brownstown died from skull fracture and asphyxiation. Virgil E. Adrian Jr. 40 of Danville died from asphyxiation after colliding with England’s truck. A passenger in Adrian’s truck was hospitalized with inhalation injuries.

Seymour city council approved five new street lights and two fire plugs for the Stankel Park area recently annexed. They also accepted the old Reno jail as a museum gift from Eldo Gerth and approved two extra fire plugs by Sky Haven Trailer Park. The vote was 5 to 0 with two members absent. Annexation took effect June 8 after a 30 day period.

Railroad Traffic Resumed After Spectacular Crash
Train traffic on the Baltimore & Ohio and Chesapeake and Ohio through Seymour resumed at 1 56 am after a noon hour derailment. The seven car derailment caused damage to crossings and a relay center with no injuries reported.
